Meet Thais Pantigas
At the heart of Amor Curls is Thais Pantigas, a visionary entrepreneur, curl specialist, and the proud owner of Tais Hair Studio. Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Thais inherited her passion for hairdressing from her mother, who managed an acclaimed hair salon for over 33 years. Thais first picked up the scissors at just 14 years old, showcasing her natural talent, flair, and creativity.
In her early 20s, Thais expanded her expertise by studying skin and body care, working with Anna Pegova, one of Brazil’s most renowned beauty institutes. This strong foundation in beauty and wellness set the stage for her future successes.
In 2007, Thais moved to Australia, bringing her Brazilian heritage and hairstyling expertise to Sydney’s vibrant Inner West. Falling in love with the community of Annandale, she resumed her training, excelling at TAFE and earning the prestigious Sydney TAFE Achievement Award.
Now the Creative Director and Owner of Tais Hair Studio, Thais has built a thriving oasis for hair and beauty. Known for her signature style and warm, personalised service, she has become a leading cutter and colour specialist, attracting clients from across Sydney and beyond. Her achievements include multiple nominations as a finalist for the Inner West Outstanding Business Person of the Year and the Inner West Outstanding Hairdressing Award.
Thais’ journey with curls is deeply personal. As a “curly girl” herself, she understands the challenges faced by those with curly hair. For years, curly-haired individuals were told their hair was “wild” or “imperfect,” often pressured to straighten it. Thais embraced her curls and made it her mission to help others do the same.
This passion led her to create Amor Curls, a Brazilian haircare brand designed with love, science, and a deep understanding of curls. Thais believes that curly hair is more than just a hair type—it’s an attitude, a celebration of individuality and natural beauty.
Through Amor Curls and Tais Hair Studio, Thais is empowering people to embrace their authentic selves, one curl at a time.
